Privacy notice
Last updated 24 October 2026.
In short
- No cookies, no analytics services, no tracking pixels, no ads, no accounts, and no requests to other sites.
- The web server keeps a short technical log with shortened IP addresses, deleted after 14 days. From it, we count visits and downloads each week, as totals only.
- The P12 Librarian and Qommander apps collect nothing and make no network connections.
Who is responsible
This website, qutrit.se, is run by QutritLogic. For anything about your data, write to qutritlogic@proton.me.
What the website records
When you open a page or download a file, the web server records:
- the date and time, and the page or file requested;
- whether it worked (status code), how large the response was and how long it took;
- your IP address, shortened: the last part is replaced with zeros (an IPv4 address to its first three parts, an IPv6 address to its first 48 bits), so it no longer points to a single connection;
- your browser's name, as it introduces itself (for example “Firefox on Windows”), to tell people from search engines and other automated visitors.
It does not keep your browser's other details, such as your language or the page you came from. This log is used to keep the site working and secure, for example to find errors or spot abuse, and to count visits and downloads (below). Its legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site and knowing whether it's used (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The log is rotated daily and each day's log is deleted automatically after 14 days.
Visit and download counts
Once a week, a small program on the server reads this log and counts how many people visited, which pages they viewed and how many times each file was downloaded, leaving search engines and other bots out. Only these totals are kept and emailed to us, for example “Windows downloads: 12”. No profiles of individual visitors are made, nothing is combined with other data, and no analytics service or third party is involved.
Security logs
The server's firewall and intrusion protection record the full IP address of connections they block or that look like attacks, such as repeated failed logins. These logs exist only to protect the server, on the same legal basis, and are deleted after about five weeks. Normal visits to the website do not appear in them.
Where the data is kept
The website runs on a server rented from Hostnet in the Netherlands, so the logs stay in the EU. They are not shared with anyone else, not sold and not used for marketing. Hostnet only provides the server.
If you email us, your message and address are used only to answer you, and kept as long as the conversation needs. Email is handled by Proton Mail.
Donations
Donations are made in Bitcoin, directly from your wallet; no payment provider is involved and we receive no personal details. Note that Bitcoin transactions are public on the blockchain by design.
P12 Librarian
The app collects no data at all: no telemetry, no usage statistics, no crash reports, and it makes no network connections. Your patches, backups and settings stay on your computer. Links in the app only open in your browser when you click them.
Qommander
The app collects no data at all: no telemetry, no usage statistics, no crash reports, and it makes no network connections of its own. Your files and settings stay on your computer.
Your rights
You can ask what data about you we have, and have it corrected or deleted; you can also object to its use or ask for it to be restricted. Because IP addresses are shortened, we usually can't tell which log entries are yours unless you help us find them. You can also complain to a data protection authority, such as Sweden's IMY (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten) or the one where you live.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
